For the Found Studio still life pictures, I found 3 objects that were naturally in a setting and captured them in those places. The first photo of the found series was taken at an art class I go to. This image captures several pastels scattered on a table on the side of my artwork. I use pastels mainly in every picture I work on, so they resemble me in a way. To make this composition I turned my phone into landscape position and faced it towards the pastel box and also made sure the drawing was included. This photo was manipulated in Photoshop with saturation level settings and created the colorful filter effect seen. For the second photo of the Found studio series, I captured an object in a much different setting - a coffee shop. To capture this photo, I simply took the image from the side of the coffee cup and made sure I also included the background of the window and other tables. The image is heavily influenced by the strong white light coming from the windows. This white light served as the light source for this portrait. Moreover, Photo 3 of the Found still life series was taken just before Christmas in 2014. The wreath in the photo was hanging in my yard and included a red bow and pine cones. I thought it would be interesting to focus in one of those pine cones, but also make sure to include the bow also. I purposely focused in on the pine cone in order to take the focus away from the rest of the image. This picture, unlike the rest, symbolizes the time of year it was taken during.
The Studio still life photos included 3 images of objects that were set up to create an interesting composition. Photo 1 and Photo 2 were taken in the same setting - my dad's workbench. While he was working in the middle of a project, he had some of his hand tools laid out across the table. I utilized some of his tools in order to create a studio still life. To create these images, I began by using a bright hanging light as my lighting source; and I also tested various angles to take the photo from. Eventually, taking the image from directly above proved to be the best choice. These two images represent my dad's fondness of his tools (there are plenty more that are not included in these pictures!) Photo 3 once again includes more of the my father's tools. This photo was taken directly above like the others, however it includes different hand tools and a different backdrop. The background of this composition was a piece of plywood with various screw drivers, flatheads, and scissors scattered on top.
