term 2
painting with light
reflection:
The five images I took for the Painting With Light assignment show the unique patterns that can come out of what is actually a very simple idea. In order to get the interesting rays and patterns of color light, the cameras we used had to be set to a slow shutter speed. On my camera, I set it on a time interval delay of about 8 seconds in order for me to have enough time to set up a composition and move the colored lights around the focus of the camera. At the end of the 8 seconds, the camera would then process an image based on whatever we displayed in front of it during that time. Moreover, my favorite image out of this series is Photo #2. This image is my favorite composition based on the shape the colored-lights formed. In my opinion the lights make up a skull-like figure that is looking towards the foreground of the photo. Shapes like this make this assignment unique in the sense that you don't know what kind of images you will get until after you've captured it.
